The Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board (KMLTTB) has stopped 12 colleges from offering medical laboratory science programmes.
Nineteen others have been put under a mentorship programme to help improve medical curriculum delivery. Speaking in a joint press conference with the Technical and Vocational Education and Training Authority (TVETA), the board, which was established to supervise the training of laboratory technologists and technicians, said it has taken action.
Some of the colleges whose programmes have been stopped include Kenya Institute of Professional Studies, Kings Medical College, Nyeri and Nyamira Training Institute
